The new generation of rectangular silicon wafers represents a significant technological direction for the industry, offering increased module power, optimized container utilization, and reduced system costs. In order to address the challenges posed by the variations in dimensions of rectangular silicon wafer modules, which impede the supply chain, result in material wastage, and create application difficulties in customer system designs, it is imperative to promote the standardization of these module dimensions.
After extensive and in-depth communication, representatives from nine module companies, namely CSI, Risen, JA, JinKO, LONGi, TW, Trina, Astronergy and DASOLAR, have reached a consensus on the standard dimensions of 238Xmm*1134mm for the new generation rectangular silicon wafer module as follows:
Module size: 2382mm*1134mm
Module long side vertical hole distance: 400mm/790mm/1400mm
Furthermore, we propose that the current and future designs for the 182 series modules and 210 series modules should adhere to the specifications outlined in the "T/CPIA 0003-2022 Technical Specification for Crystalline Silicon Terrestrial Photovoltaic Module Dimensions and Mounting Holes" by the China Photovoltaic Industry Association (CPIA) (chinapv.org.cn), as well as the existing industry dimensions. Within these ranges of dimensions, each manufacturer may adopt them based on their individual circumstances to meet the diverse needs of their customers.
The nine companies jointly advocate and promote the acceptance of the above standardized dimensions among more enterprises in the industry and incorporate each rectangular silicon wafers module dimensions into the industry standards of the China Photovoltaic Industry Association. Additionally, the nine companies have decided to establish the "Photovoltaic Module Dimension Standardization Seminar Group" to facilitate regular communication and collaboration, advancing the standardization of dimensions for other variants of the new generation rectangular silicon wafer modules and promoting the healthy development of the photovoltaic industry.
